Ethical Research
IDEALearning applies current and reputable research in education, neuroscience and psychology to the classroom through engaging online and face to face professional learning courses. In order to deliver a reputable and ethical service to schools and deliver courses that connect current research with classroom practice, IDEALearning works closely with research groups, accessing a wide range of current peer-reviewed academic journals. IDEALearning ensures that the material presented to schools accurately represents the research used and is relevant to the learning needs of each school and it’s students. IDEALearning also provides a consulting service for selected companies and research groups who develop evidence based, reputable and cost effective resources for students, to improve learning outcomes and increase student engagement.
Where our Research Comes From
IDEALearning works directly with interdisciplinary research groups in neuroeducation around the world. We sit between schools and universities and we form a research infrastructure that facilitates the application of research to schools, and the opportunity to research for universities. We access research from a wide range of current peer reviewed academic journals. We are a Dana Foundation Brain Awareness Week Partner.

Our ‘Learning to Learn’ course is one example of what to expect in professional learning material we create. We use a short film is as an ice-breaker for an introduction to brain plasticity. The course takes in a range of peer-reviewed research, and uses animated content where appropriate to communicate highly complex ideas in a straightforward, engaging way. We then use the research available on this topic to synthesise this material so that it remains true to the research. Our engaging courses enable teachers to connect evidence based research with classroom practice using an collaborative discussion board tool and an interactive online presentation. Teachers are encouraged to implement what they have learned in the context of their own classrooms and return to the course discussion boards to share their observations of student learning and how the research has impacted their classroom practice.
